Travel Info - Car Hire
There is a huge selection of car hire companies on the Island, a handful of which we've used over the years.
It's worth checking whether you get whisked away from the airport to collect your vehicle, or whether you collect the keys at the airport and the car is waiting for you in the car park. It can be a bit of a surprise the first time you get taken off in a mini-bus, luggage and all, to collect your car - and we suggest if you've got tired kids with you go for an 'on airport' service.
Here are some of the companies we've used:
Not the fastest company at responding to requests for information, so patience is necessary, but a wonderful 'meet & greet' service at the airport itself.
It's worth noting that it is illegal not to have your driving licence and passport with you when driving in Spain. We recommend you keep your hire-car papers in the vehicle, as often, within, there is a contact telephone number in case of tyre punctures etc.
Also, if you wear spectacles or contact lenses, by law you should carry a spare pair of glasses with you too!
Very competitive rates, and very easy to book on line.
